Q: Is a 1967 ford falcon 4dr v6 worth fixing up? How would be best?
I'm thinking if i should get a 1967 ford falcon but im not sure if its worth fixing up. (the car is in great shape no rust all its chrome) its a 6cyl and a 4dr

A: I had one way back in 1985. Wish I still had it. Got great gas mileage. Was easy to get in and out with a bunch of people. Was kind of stylish. It was white exterior with a teal green interior. I would say if you can get it for a good price go for it. I would probably consider in the neighborhood of between $800 and $1400, depending on overall condition and if it is running. The old cars are starting to bring better prices as reconditioned vehicles than they originally cost new. Consider it a great purchase if you get it at a good price. Good Luck!

Q: I Need Help With A 1967 Ford Falcon!?
I was just given a 1967 4 door Ford Falcon for my 17th Birthday. It's been in my family since my great grandmother bought it brand new, there is noone i can go to that knows anything about cars, and I'm afraid to go to a mechanic completely ignorant. It runs great for the most part, and the interior is in mint condition, its a beautiful car that i absolutely adore, but it needs a little work. It doesnt shift into gear all that smooth, someone said the shocks need some work, it needs a better fan, and the engine is FILTHY. I also would like to get the origianl hubcaps and gas cap (everything else is exactly the same as it was bought excpet for some minor stuff under the hood), I've looked online for the manual that could give me details about the car but i can't find it, and i have no idea where to buy parts without being ripped off, i don't know where to start in the repairs or anything. These are some of my problems, I don't make much money (only part time job), and I reaaally wannna be able to learn about this car and how it runs so i can properly care for it, does anyone know how i should go about this? where i should go for parts? should i trust a mechanic or will they use my ignorance against me (i seriously know next to nothing about cars..today someone had to explain what a radiator does)? where can i get info???? Thanks =)

A: Chilton makes a manual for your car, any napa will have it in stock or can order it for you. I am not sure if you were saying the transmission engaged hard or shifted hard. If it engages to hard your idle may be set to high, if it shifts too hard you will have to either adjust the detent cable or replace the vacuum modulator ( I can't remember which system the C-6/C-4 Ford transmission used) It could also be a vacuum leak. Google is your best friend for old car parts, I restore old Chevy's mostly so parts are readily available from reproduction company's and E-Bay but you may have a little more trouble finding Ford Falcon parts. Good Luck and have fun!

Q: where can i get new floor pan for a 1967 ford falcon?

A: You can try a Mustang parts place. The Mustang was based on the Falcon and I know the earlier Stangs and Falcons had the same floors (65+66's). With the Mustangs great success, it helped the Falcons in their quest for parts (cheap and available)!
